What the prompts are, where each agent reads them, the stacks they cover and how they work with the MCP server.

What is an AI coding prompt?

A rules file: plain Markdown your coding agent reads before it writes code, so it follows a stack's current conventions instead of what its training data remembers. Each of the 25 is written for one stack or one job, from Next.js 16 to Stripe webhooks.

Why does my coding agent need a prompt at all?

Agents learn from years of old tutorials, so they reach for patterns a library has since replaced: middleware.ts in Next.js 16, forwardRef in React 19, a tailwind.config.js in a Tailwind CSS v4 project. A prompt names the current API, the mistakes to avoid and the checks to run, so the first answer is closer to code you would commit.

How current are the prompts?

Each prompt names the versions it is written for and the day it was last reviewed, on its page. Its rules were checked against the packages' own types and the docs they ship, where they ship them. When a framework ships a breaking change, its prompt is updated and its date moves.

Are the prompts free?

Yes. Every prompt is free to read, copy and download, with no account. Installing one with the shadcn CLI uses your free account's token, as every install from the registry does.

Which prompt should I start with?

Start with your stack's base, the one you'd keep always on (Next.js App Router, React 19, Nuxt + shadcn-vue, SvelteKit + shadcn-svelte), then add one for the job at hand: payments, tables, forms, auth. Two or three focused prompts beat one long one.
