Scabbard

A scabbard is a protective sheath for a sword or other bladed weapon. It is typically made of leather, metal, or wood and is designed to hold the weapon securely in place. Scabbards have been used throughout history, particularly in medieval times, to protect and carry swords.

In games and fantasy media, scabbards are often depicted as part of a character's armor or equipment. For example, in games like The Elder Scrolls or Dark Souls, scabbards are used to carry swords or other melee weapons. The scabbard icon can also be used to represent a character's or player's ability to wield a sword.

From a UX perspective, the scabbard icon communicates a sense of protection and readiness. It can be used to indicate a character's or player's access to a melee weapon or their ability to defend themselves.

It's drawn in currentColor, so it takes the text color wherever you use it: a class like text-primary recolors it. To bake a color in, set one in Customize before you copy.

Set width and height on the component, or a class like size-6. It's drawn on a 512 × 512 grid, so it stays sharp at any size. Customize also sets the size it exports at, its padding and rotation.
