License
Learn more about the shadcn.io Pro Blocks licensing model. Have a question? Get in touch and we'll help you out.
Subscription License
shadcn.io grants you a non-exclusive license to use the Pro Blocks and Components while your subscription is active.
The license grants permission to one individual (the Licensee) to access and use the Pro Blocks and Components.
What happens when you cancel?
When your subscription ends, you retain the right to use any Pro Blocks and Components you accessed during your active subscription in existing End Products. However, you will no longer have access to download new Pro Blocks, receive updates, or use newly released components.
To continue receiving updates and access to new Pro Blocks, you must maintain an active subscription.
You can:
- Use the Pro Blocks and Components to create unlimited End Products.
- Modify the Pro Blocks and Components to create derivative blocks and components. Those blocks and components are subject to this license.
- Use the Pro Blocks and Components to create unlimited End Products for unlimited Clients.
- Use the Pro Blocks and Components to create End Products where the End Product is sold to End Users.
- Use the Pro Blocks and Components to create End Products that are open source and freely available to End Users.
You cannot:
- Use the Pro Blocks and Components to create End Products that are designed to allow an End User to build their own End Products using the Pro Blocks and Components or derivatives of the Pro Blocks and Components.
- Re-distribute the Pro Blocks and Components or derivatives of the Pro Blocks and Components separately from an End Product, neither in code or as design assets.
- Share your access to the Pro Blocks and Components with any other individuals.
- Use the Pro Blocks and Components to produce anything that may be deemed by shadcn.io, in their sole and absolute discretion, to be competitive or in conflict with the business of shadcn.io.
Example Usage
Examples of usage allowed by the license:
- Creating a personal website by yourself.
- Creating a website or web application for a client that will be owned by that client.
- Creating a commercial SaaS application (like an invoicing app for example) where end users have to pay a fee to use the application.
- Creating a commercial self-hosted web application that is sold to end users for a one-time fee.
- Creating a web application where the primary purpose is clearly not to simply re-distribute the blocks (like a conference organization app that uses the blocks for its UI for example) that is free and open source, where the source code is publicly available.
Examples of usage not allowed by the license:
- Creating a repository of your favorite shadcn.io Pro Blocks or components (or derivatives based on shadcn.io Pro Blocks or components) and publishing it publicly.
- Creating a UI library using shadcn.io Pro Blocks and making it available either for sale or for free.
- Converting a shadcn.io template to another framework and making it available either for sale or for free.
- Creating a Figma or Sketch UI kit based on the Pro Block designs.
- Creating a "website builder" project where end users can build their own websites using blocks or components included with or derived from shadcn.io Pro Blocks.
- Creating a theme, template, or project starter kit using the Pro Blocks or components and making it available either for sale or for free.
- Creating an admin panel tool (like Laravel Nova or ActiveAdmin) that is made available either for sale or for free.
In simple terms, use shadcn.io Pro Blocks for anything you like as long as it doesn't compete with shadcn.io.
Refund Policy
Due to the nature of digital products, we typically do not issue refunds. Once a digital file is delivered, it cannot be returned—and unfortunately, some individuals have misused refund requests in the past.
We ask that you carefully consider your purchase before completing it. Please also avoid putting us in a difficult situation with refund requests unless you have a genuine or exceptional reason.
Common scenarios where refunds are not granted:
- You've already downloaded the product but decided you no longer want it
- You changed your mind after purchasing
- The item was bought by mistake
- You're unable to use or implement the code due to lack of technical skills
- You feel the item doesn't meet your personal expectations or standards
- You request a refund without offering a valid reason or explanation
This isn't a complete list—just examples of situations we encounter frequently.
