Questions and answers
Before you trust the result: what to know about the format, the limits, your data and the tools next to it.
Warm tones (sunset, sepia) read as comfort, nostalgia and energy; cool ones (ocean, teal) as calm and trust; violet as creativity and luxury; forest as nature and health.
Sunset or sepia: oranges and browns of firelight and golden hour. Food, home and autumn subjects take it well.
Ocean or slate. Blue reads as competence and a desaturated tone as seriousness, which is what corporate imagery usually wants.
A saturated tone with contrast: deep violet for mystery, bold teal for intensity, dark slate for a brooding scene.
Sepia is the classic. Any faded warm, slightly desaturated tone recalls old prints too.
Each pixel is read as hue, saturation and lightness; the tone's hue and saturation replace the pixel's and its lightness stays. Shadows stay dark and highlights bright, so the picture keeps its depth and only its color changes.
Pick a preset (Sepia, Ocean, Violet, Teal, Sunset, Forest, Rose, Slate) or type any hex. The same hex gives the same result on every image, which is how you keep a series consistent: note the code and reuse it.
Transparent pixels stay transparent and semi-transparent edges keep their alpha; only the visible color is toned.
The result is a lossless PNG, which every browser writes and every tool opens. For the web, re-encode it as AVIF in your build or an encoder to get the small file back.
No. The file is decoded by your browser and every pixel is handled by JavaScript on your device. The page makes no request with your image, and you can load it, go offline and keep working.
No. The AVIF mood color filter is free and opens without a sign-in, an account or an install.
Nothing. The AVIF mood color filter holds your input in the page's memory, so closing or reloading the tab clears it, and it saves nothing in this browser.
Up to 100 MB per file, the limit the tool states under its drop area. A larger file is refused with a plain message instead of being decoded.
No, it takes one file at a time. If you drop or choose several, only the first is used; run the tool again for the next one.
The edit is written as a PNG because PNG stores every pixel exactly, with a full alpha channel, so the result can be edited again without a second round of loss.
No. The browser decodes the image and the tool writes a new file from its pixels, so camera EXIF, GPS position and text chunks in the original are not copied into the result. Keep the original file if you need them.
No. The result has the same width and height in pixels as the source.
