4 steps, no account. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Drop an SVG
Drop an SVG or choose one; it is drawn at the size it declares, or at the size you pick, up to 1024 pixels on the longer side.
Pick a noise and its strength
Grain, Color, Soft or Sampled, then the intensity: the share of opaque pixels that change, from 1 to 100 percent.
Gray it, reseed it
Turn the drawing gray before the grain for print and vintage looks, and ask for a new pattern until one suits.
Download the PNG
The PNG keeps the SVG's transparency: grain lands on the drawing only, never on the empty background.
The grain modes
Four kinds of grain. The same four modes on every page; the right intensity depends on the size the picture is shown at.
Grain
Each touched pixel becomes a random gray, from black to white. The classic film and print grain, and the mode to start with.
Color
Each touched pixel becomes a random color. Loud and chaotic; at high intensity it reads as glitch or grunge rather than texture.
Soft
Each touched pixel drifts a little from its own color, up to 25 levels per channel. Texture that keeps the palette intact.
Sampled
Each touched pixel takes the color of another pixel in the picture, so the grain is made only of colors the drawing already has.

Questions and answers
Before you trust the result: what to know about the format, the limits, your data and the tools next to it.
SVG. For AI, EPS or PDF artwork, export an SVG from the vector editor first; SVG is the vector format browsers draw.
Icons are small, so the grain must be subtle: Grain at 5 to 12 percent. At 16 to 48 pixels even that may be hard to see; check at the size the icon is shown.
Grain at 10 to 20 percent suits most logos. A logo used at many sizes may need a version per size range: grain that suits a site header is too fine for a business card.
Sampled. The grain is drawn from the colors already in the drawing, so it stays on the brand's palette. For grain in one chosen color, tone the result afterwards with the color tone changer.
Grain: random grays. Color: random colors. Soft: a small drift from each pixel's own color. Sampled: colors taken from elsewhere in the drawing.
Use the same mode and intensity for every file. Each picture gets its own random pattern, but the same settings read as one treatment across a project.
As drawn, the output is the size the SVG declares: its width and height, or its viewBox when it has no width and height. Pick 16 to 1024 instead and the longer side becomes that many pixels, with the ratio kept. The SVG is redrawn at that size, not scaled up from a small bitmap, so a 24-pixel icon exported at 1024 is as crisp as the vector.
No. The file is read and drawn by your browser, and the page makes no request with it. You can load the page, go offline and keep working; nothing is stored either, so reload and it is gone.
No. The Vector grain generator is free and opens without a sign-in, an account or an install.
Up to 20 MB per file, the limit the tool states under its drop area. A larger file is refused with a plain message instead of being decoded.
No, it takes one file at a time. If you drop or choose several, only the first is used; run the tool again for the next one.
The edit is written as a PNG because PNG stores every pixel exactly, with a full alpha channel, so the result can be edited again without a second round of loss.
No. The browser decodes the image and the tool writes a new file from its pixels, so camera EXIF, GPS position and text chunks in the original are not copied into the result. Keep the original file if you need them.
No. The result has the same width and height in pixels as the source.
