Before you trust the result: what to know about the format, the limits, your data and the tools next to it.
Hours and minutes as 1:30 or 1:30:15, units as 2h 15m, 1d 4h, 90m or 45s, and a bare number as hours, so 7.75 is seven hours and 45 minutes. A leading minus makes a duration negative, and a decimal comma reads as a point.
Multiply the decimal part by 60: 7.75 hours is 7 hours and 0.75 × 60 = 45 minutes, written 7:45. Decimal mode converts both ways and lists common minutes as decimal hours, such as 15 minutes = 0.25.
An end earlier than the start is read as the next day, so 22:00 to 06:00 is eight hours. The same time at both ends counts as no time.
No. Totals keep counting, so three 9-hour days add up to 27:00:00, as a timesheet needs. The line in words gives the days too: 1 day and 3 hours.
In Add up, type one duration a row and press Add a row for more. The minus button beside a row subtracts it, such as an unpaid break, and the total follows as you type.
Each day's worked time is exact or rounded to the nearest 6 or 15 minutes, half up, before the week is added. The copy button copies the week as a table to paste into a spreadsheet.
No. The times are added up in your browser and the page makes no request with them.
No. The Time duration calculator is free and opens without a sign-in, an account or an install.
The Time duration calculator keeps nothing on a server; only the invoice generator saves its draft, in this browser's localStorage on your device. Nothing else is saved, and nothing is sent to shadcn.io.
Add up sums a list of durations, Between times gives the time from a start to an end less a break, Decimal converts decimal hours to hours, minutes and seconds and back, and Timesheet totals a week of start, end and break times.
To the second: every duration is kept in whole seconds. Hours and minutes written as h:mm are rounded to the nearest minute, and decimal hours are given to two places.
Yes. In Between times and on each timesheet day, type the unpaid break in minutes and it comes off the span. In Add up, the minus button beside a row subtracts it.
