Flip an image.

Flipping mirrors the picture: text reads backwards and a face looking left looks right. Rotating turns it around its centre, so it still reads correctly. Flipping both ways gives the same picture as a 180° turn.

The mirror moves every pixel to its new place without resampling. A PNG stays lossless; a JPEG or WebP is encoded again at the quality you set, 90 by default, as any editor that saves a new file does.

A selfie from a front camera that came out mirrored, a product shot that should face the other way in a layout, a scan placed the wrong way round, or a pattern that needs its mirror image to tile.
