A source editor with a live preview, not a drawing app. Paste or drop an SVG, change the markup, and see it drawn as you type; helpers in the bar set the size, fill, stroke and background and minify the file. Shapes are drawn by hand in the code or in a vector editor.
Setting the size writes width and height on the root tag, and adds a viewBox from the old size when there was none, so the drawing scales instead of being cropped. The preview and every converter on the site then draw it at that size.
They go on the root <svg> tag, where shapes without their own fill or stroke inherit them. A shape that sets its own color keeps it; change that in the source. An icon drawn with currentColor takes the fill or stroke you set here.
A rect the size of the drawing is inserted as the first child, with the color you pick, so the background is part of the SVG. No background removes it again. The rect carries an id, so setting it twice replaces rather than stacks.
Comments, the XML prolog, a DOCTYPE and the whitespace between tags are dropped, and runs of whitespace inside tags collapse to one space. The drawing is unchanged; the file is smaller, often by a third for hand-written or exported files.
The preview is the browser's own rendering of the text as an image, so what you see is what a browser shows. If the markup doesn't parse, the status says near which line, and the preview waits until it does.
Yes: the download is the source as it stands, an .svg file named after the one you dropped. For a PNG, JPG, WebP or ICO, take the edited file to the converters.
No. The file is read and drawn by your browser, and the page makes no request with it. You can load the page, go offline and keep working; nothing is stored either, so reload and it is gone.
No. The SVG editor is free and opens without a sign-in, an account or an install.
Nothing. The SVG editor holds your input in the page's memory, so closing or reloading the tab clears it, and it saves nothing in this browser.
No fixed cap: it reads the pasted text or the dropped .svg file into your browser's memory. A file that doesn't start with an <svg> tag is refused.
No, it takes one file at a time. If you drop or choose several, only the first is used; run the tool again for the next one.
No. The live preview is an img element made from the text, never markup injected into the page, so scripts inside an SVG do not run here.
It rewrites the root tag: width and height, fill, stroke, a background rectangle, and a minify pass that drops comments, the XML prolog, a DOCTYPE and the whitespace between tags.

The tool is free. Its interface is built from shadcn.io's own components (Button, Input, Slider and the rest of the registry under /ui), which come in React, Vue, Svelte and Solid. Pro adds the blocks and templates for the product around it.
